First let me say that I am sorry to hear that you are subjected to such talk. They say “you have to face it to erase it.” If that’s true, being open about it is the first step.

We need to acknowledge and then rebut the whole idea that any race (or gender, for that matter) is superior to any other.

In the U.S., more and more white people are becoming aware of how insidious racism is and how blind we’ve been to the way black and brown people are treated everyday. This is something we all need to work on together. We just have to keep on fighting for fairness and equality for all. It won’t happen by itself.
