Here's what kills me. All of Trump's power comes from people willing to lie for him. The entire Qanon machine that propped Trump up is built on lies. I get that some in the Republican base believes those lies, but I don't think anyone in Congress does.

If Congressional Republicans just started telling the truth, they could get rid of Trump. They have to want to, at this point. I'd like to know what is stopping them.

I can think of three possibilities, though I'm sure there are more :

1) Trump knows their secrets and has threatened to expose them.

2) They know if they upset Trump he will focus the wrath of his supporters on them. (We all saw what happened after years of bashing Nancy Pelosi. If they weren't afraid before, they are now.)

3) They're cowards. They're just waiting for it to go away. They backed the wrong horse and now they have no good options. Anything they might do to address Trump's sociopathy and their own negligence requires a level of introspection, self-awareness and courage that none of them possess.
