Hi Nick,

I always enjoy your articles but feel you left out one of the most critical aspects of self-confidence: stop comparing yourself to others!

People who compete to be "the best" and constantly look to see how they measure up to others create one of two things, both are destructive:

1) A false sense of inferiority

2) A false sense of superiority

My sister always said "Comparisons are odious." I think she's right. There will always be someone better than you and there will always be someone not as good--it doesn't matter what you are measuring. That's just life.

Focus on being your best and on being your unique self so you don't get caught up in thinking you should be like someone else. That's who they should be--not who you should be.

Keep up the great work--and thanks!

Laurie
