I agree with all points made, but we need to be clear about what really happened here. Nobody asked any of these candidates directly if it comes before the court, would you pledge NOT to overturn Roe V. Wade. Nobody had the guts to make it that clear.

All the crap about precedent is legal theory and pontificating. Nobody forced any of Trump's appointees to answer that question directly. So they didn't. The whole bunch acted like Susan Collins--too wimpy to force the issue and make it a clear defining line. None of Trump's appointees are qualified: Barrett is a religious cult member; Kavanaugh is an abusive promoter of the worst kind of Bro Culture, and Gorsuch lacks judgment. But everybody saw this coming, and nobody did what was needed to prevent it—shame on all of them.
