I believe asking the Inspector General to look into it first may be a normal first step. I also suspect that until Garland has enough evidence at hand to prove charges against Trump and his family, we won't hear anything.

When we do, it will be fast and furious--maybe even an arrest like we saw with Roger Stone.

I say this because Garland has already stated that he'd pursue any crimes committed by anyone--not matter who. He's not giving Trump or his cronies a pass.

I too worry that the delay is creating the impression that there won't be any accountability, but I suspect Garland is going to let the public see the Jan. 6 Committee hearings first. Then he will make his move.

By that time, the rest of us will see evidence, not just reporting on this.

The thing I think we all need to remember is that knowing a crime was committed by someone isn't the same as proving they did it. Evidence admissible in court takes much longer to prepare--and the DOJ is never supposed to comment on an open investigation.
