I disagree with pretty much everything you've written here. Trump has lost his power. His power was always a matter of getting others to do his bidding.

Trump, when cornered, will turn on everyone--and they will all desert him.

Given that he's also a known pathelogical liar, nothing he says will matter so he can talk all day long about other people--nobody will care.

Also, public desires/perception/attention is completely irrelevant to whether or not someone is sentenced to time in jail. That's for the judge to decide, not the public. I take Merrick Garland at his word.

Lastly, Trump will be disqualified from running in 2024.
