I identify with this so much! I went on a trip and put the most gorgeous orchid with dozens of buds in a small greenhouse on my patio. I thought it would do well without water there. I burned it alive!

When I returned weeks later, It was light yellow--all the leaves that is--and the buds were dead. I cried. It was a gift from a dear friend and I tortured it then killed it. I have a serious case of gardener's guilt :-(
