It's tapping directly into our limbic system and people are programmable, just like machines. Garbage in, garbage out.

I recently watched The Social Dilemma. I think it's on Netflix. They describe exactly how the algorithms work, to keep eyes glued to the page--that is their only goal. And the more crazy something is, the more fascinating it is, so there you have it.

It has been proven to have made society worse but if we tell them not to use these algorithms, they will lose money. And being the capitalists we are, that's just not okay. It's all about the Benjamins.
