The more we mess with Mother Nature the worse we make things. We have no way of knowing what mining the moon would do.

As much as I love the idea of energy that doesn't have the potential to become another Chernobyl, I think making assumptions like the above, is dangerous.

Ego is also dangerous. It makes men do things they don't understand and because they refuse to bend to nature and prefer to try to conquer her, they just keep making more mistakes with inevitable consequences they refuse to acknowledge.

There are much simpler solutions, like using less energy, and relying more on solar and wind power. Let's stick to what we do know. If people keep pretending we can fix the energy problem with some fantastical solution 20-30 years in the future, it will only give people an excuse to do nothing now. We cannot afford that.
