This happened to German women after the war as well.
I just googled it and estimates are that over 2 million German women were raped by occupying soldiers . One article said that "every woman from 8 to eighty" was raped.
Check out The Defeated on Netflix. It's the story of a group of ragtag police and their experiences during the occupation of the Russian, French, British and American troops in post WWII Berlin.
It's a startling and moving account of how tragic the days after the war were for many. It doesn't get a great imdb score, but don't let that stop you.
It's hard to watch, but it's the best account I've seen of what women, in particular, endure as the result of war.
