This is a manufactured argument. SCOTUS is supposed to deal with actual harm done and real-life disputes between people. It is never supposed to engage in hypotheticals suggested by political actors who have had no harm done to them and therefore no reason to bring the case before SCOTUS.

This is just another example of how far-right political organizations are using the Trump appointed justices to legislate for the far-right, from the bench--which they should never do.

It is also a warning. If they are not stopped, they will dream up more and more cases to force issues that were already settled to be revisited and reversed if the far-right doesn't agree with the original decisions.

We can look forward to their attempt to reverse same-sex marriage but I think they might hold off on making interracial marriage illegal--after all, they do have to protect their own, yes?
