This is fascinating. I was born into a Mormon family. They believe that Black people are the descendants of Cain, and their black skin is punishment for the murder of Abel.

There is no end to the nonsense people will create to justify their actions. Religion is a prime tool in the toolbox because no matter how absurd an idea is, if you call it religion, you can sway the masses with it.

Thank you for writing about this so clearly and with so much detail. It's important for everyone to understand how Putin is using religion to justify his war on Ukraine. I wish more of the media would cover this.
