This is the answer. Republicans do not wish to govern--they don't believe it's worth the time and effort. They just want power. If the Dems can get "a more decisive majority," is the single issue that will save us now.

Every suggestion made to improve our current system requires Dems to lead--Republicans don't like progress, it means change, and they are afraid of it.

We should be constantly reinforcing the idea that it's okay to be backward, but it's not okay to hold everybody else back. It's okay to be ignorant; it's not okay to lie to others and force them to remain ignorant.

We need to call out the autocratic and imperialistic tactics of the right and make sure everybody understands what they are doing to destroy any chance of a continuing functional democracy.

Everything you say here is true, but none of it will mean anything unless we can vote out the majority of the Republican Party.

Everything else is just fucking noise.
