This reminds me of Donald Trump sayin he "loves" women. He abuses them--he loves to do that--but he doesn't love women. He can't--if he did, he couldn't treat them like he does.
Let's not forget Buddy Guy either. White people played his music and took credit for it And he wasn't the only one. Motown existed because Black people were unable to get their music published by Black performers--they had to let white people record it before established record companies would produce it and radio stations would play it.
When white people compliment Black people on their 'rhythm' or musicality, they are saying 'we don't see them as equals, but they can do some things well.'
