Unfortunately, we have been programmed to believe any restrictions on Israel are based in antisemitism and therefore we lean the other way and consistently allow Israel to abuse Palestinians. Until the United States takes a stand and insists that international laws are followed and illegal settlements are not allowed, Israel has free reign. This war with Hamas was bound to happen--people can't be oppressed in this way without the result being some kind of uprising.

The failure of Israeli and Palestinian leadership is clear. Unfortunately, it's always the case that when men can't get along, their inability to compromise and find a solution ends in violence.
