Very helpful. Still, pet peeve alert: Why does Mastodon use "instance" instead of server since they mean the same thing?

IMO, it adds a completely unnecessary level of confusion. Every time I read that word my brain has to remind me that it doesn't mean what it really means if I consult the dictionary. Who thinks this stuff up?
