Very insightful. I loved watching McCammond on the TV news because she isn't white, isn't old and isn't a man. But I was surprised at all the uproar over texts sent in high school.
We all communicate differently in private. And when we're young, we say things in jest that we don't seriously believe, and which are meaningless when we've mature a bit.
I find it truly amazing that Kavanaugh was confirmed for a lifetime appointment on the Supreme Court despite his behavior (which was despicable in the hearings themselves) and which included an allegation of sexual assault. His record as a drunken bully in high school was undisputed--and it's quite possible he doesn't remember what he did to Ford all those years ago. Even so, his belligerence at the hearings was enough for me to consider him completely unqualified for the job. As a grown man, he behaved like an ignorant ass.
But Kavanaugh got the job as the highest arbiter of law and truth in the country while McCammond got fired from Teen Vogue for some questionable tweets.
For me, that pretty much says it all.
