Walmart has also used government subsidies to set up stores in isolated areas, lowering prices below cost long enough to put local businesses out of business and then raising prices until nobody in the area could afford to shop there anymore.

They then closed their stores and fired the employees who thought they were finally going to have a chance at a decent long-term job--leaving communities gutted and without ocal businesses to provide the goods the community still needs. This was their business model. And our government funded it.
