Well, if you’ve been following Congress, you know that with the exception of a couple of Democrats who operate like Republicans (namely, Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema) we could have passed a lot more legislation designed to help those who need it most.

If we get more Dems in Congress, particularly the Senate, that type of legislation will have a chance. This is what we need to do, IMO.

We also need to find a way to seriously reform the way both parties make money once in office. Too many conflicts of interest allow for too much fund raiding and lobbying that pays them for siding with corporate interests.

This may be a pipe dream, but I believe if we can find a group of new Democrats who will promise to do something about that stuff and get enough of them elected, we have a fighting chance at real improvements.

I’m an optimist — can you tell? ;-)
