White people who have been abused tend to have very low self-esteem. It's a strange thing because while the rest of the world might see them as advantaged, when your own parents are abusive, the privilege of being white cannot make up for that in any way.
Black people are abused systematically by racist behaviors that have been sanctioned and supported since this country was founded. There is no way around that, and it's always be wrong. But it's not the only thing that will handicap a person's ability to be successful.
Assuming that whiteness is some kind of guarantee of success is just as inaccurate, IMO, as assuming blackness guarantees failure.
