Yeah, turns out pretty much everything men have said about most things is myth. In fact, I've been stunned at the number of so-called "studies" published by men of high repute that were literally nothing but imagination motivated by ego.
My favorite is how they categorized women for centuries. None asked women about themselves, but plenty were comfortable calling us "creatures" and "not fully human."
The guys who started the "Enhanced interrogation techniques" at Abu Ghraib had zero experience to back up the assertions that torturing people would work, but the entire military and our government said "Go ahead--give it a try."
When a man with a title says something, people assume it's true. We really need to work on that.
