I recently read Bill Bryson’s book The Body and was shocked at the number of myths we perpetuated by believing theories about the human body that someone imagined to be true but never found any evidence to support. It would seem if a dude with credentials or pedigree says something with enough confidence, people buy it — regardless of the subject matter. We seriously need to work on that.
